Opportunity: Reporting directly to the Chief Estimator, the Senior Electrical Estimator is responsible for the completion of task-off pricing, subtrade solicitation and assembly of bids. The specific functions of this position include, but are not limited to the following:
Primary Responsibilities: - Developing and executing construction estimates using traditional and innovative methods
- Overseeing the activities of junior estimators and support staff
- Preparing schedules and estimates including coordinating subtrade invitations and estimates, preparation of contract documents and schedules
- Assisting with the preparation of contracts, negotiations and revisions to agreements with architects, consultants, clients, suppliers and subcontractors
- Representing the company in relations with business services, joint ventures, regulatory agencies, site personnel and new construction markets
Requirements & Qualifications: - Bachelor degree in a relevant engineering discipline or equivalent experience
- Five to seven years of experience working within an industrial construction environment, with at least two years in a supervisory position
- Experience in high voltage, substation, and standard distribution equipment
- Experience in instrumentation and controls
- Professional registration either as QS, Red Seal Estimator or equivalent
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Primavera
- Experience with MC2 preferred but not mandatory
- Ability to set and manage priorities to meet all deadlines
- Strong coordination skills and organization skills
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Professional and friendly attitude is mandatory
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong problem solving skills
